Well hi there followers, sorry I've been away for a few days. Life has been manic!
Days filled with swim training and working on my technique, gym work with Dan Fivey for core, mobilization and stability and then of course there is the launch of Twitter and Facebook accounts. A few manipulations by Clare Lait and a little rest too. Phew! Thanks to all of you who have signed up, hopped aboard for The Swim The Big Blue expedition. We now approaching 500 Twitter followers! Thanks to you all.
What else? We have been interviewed by H2Open Magazine - Be sure to check out their features section online NOW and their printed magazine in April 2014. Thanks Simon for your support - H2O's logo is linked above for your reading ease lovely blog viewers.
Meanwhile, sponsorship requisition and acquisition roles on as does the build up of interview requests. Our logo competition between Dunalley Primary School, Cheltenham, and SOS Children's village school in Dakar is due to close soon; then we shall have a logo. They look amazing, colourful and wonderfully abstract so far! We cannot wait to go through them all. Now despite the weather, we remain upbeat and happy and I had my first taste of celebrity status, he jokes, as I crossed the road and a lady said, "you're Ben the swimmer, aren't you!?" I was stunned, then I realised she was the grandmother of children in my daughter's school and she wanted to help fundraise. A wonderful lady and in her follow up email, here is what she said with regards to the expedition:
"...You are about to take on a MAMMOTH TASK, and I would be honoured to be a part of it. Its the COURAGE, COMPASSION AND UNSELFISHNESS OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU, THAT MAKES THIS WORLD GO ROUND! THANK YOU FOR THAT!..."
It was wonderful to read this, encouraging and even when training is hard and I question what is possible, this reminds me as does the response of others like Nikki Bartlett, that nothing is impossible. I will update my blog more regularly and as I type note I have a radio interview late February locally on Radio Winchcombe,
ITV news to come soon and the website is going to be revolutionised by Magnetize Ltd shortly; Thank you Mike and Stuart. Thanks to all of you too, for your support and encouragement; nothing is impossible! Accept for this bloody rain and wind, not even a hint of snow this year - I need sunshine!!
